Journey Through Time
K.M.U.P. School, Edayur, was founded in 1949 by Mr. M.P. Gopalan to provide higher elementary education to local children, particularly those from marginalized communities. Despite early challenges, including low attendance and limited support, a dedicated committee and local contributions helped establish the school. With land donated by Mr. Nellekkatt Madhavan Nayar and the efforts of temporary teachers like Shri Padmanabhan Nair, the school overcame financial struggles. After Mr. Gopalakrishnan Nair’s passing in 1960, his wife, Mrs. P.P. Kamalakshikutty Amma, ensured the school’s survival. Today, K.M.U.P. School is a respected institution, known for its commitment to quality education and its well-maintained infrastructure.
